To My Friend Bob

Dear Staff,
Today I learned the news of one of my closest and dearest friend of mine had succumbed to a year long battle with a blood cancer. I met Bob Osterman over 20 years ago when he walked into my family lumber business and befriended me. He was one of the most brilliant people I had ever met and got to know. Bob knew that I sold a product that should be selling on the Internet long before most people even knew what the words e-commerce meant. He had a vision, and the two of us collaborated and he built a web-site for my family business. Before long, orders were coming in from the web and UPS was at our door almost every day. Our advertising moved from print ad in the back of wood magazines to search engines before there was a Google.
Throughout my career I remained friends with Bob. He was always there to guide me in my business affairs. He had many degrees in business and business consultation. He started many businesses and when I came to Feldman he was my strength, and was responsible for building and putting in place all the mechanisms of the Feldman Wood Products web-site.
The two of us spent untold hours working together brainstorming and developing what is feldmanwoodproducts.com. Without Bob’s brilliance and his programming abilities the task I was responsible for when I joined Feldman, building your company's web-site, would never have been possible. Bob made me look good.
Bob was always there for me when ever there was a question I needed answered, or to help me accomplish things that you and our customers wanted to have done. We sometimes worked for hours together, he in his office which was his basement, where all his servers are stored. I sitting at my desk trying to understand some of the geeky things he would explain to me.
For Bob it was never just do what I asked, although he always managed to get it done. Bob always wanted to teach me as much as he could so I really understood what was involved in accomplishing the task at hand. He had a way of getting things done and never wanted me to take the short cut but wanted me to do things the right way. And one thing about a computer programmer, they always want to do things the best way the right way no matter what is involved or how long it took.
I am really going to miss Bob and his family will too. I attended his wake today and will be at his funeral service tomorrow. Bob is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth, his Son Michael and his beautiful daughter Emily. In Bob's honor and for all of us to remembeer, that if not for Bob, there would be no web-site, there would be no nightly uploads, which I have done almost every evening for all of us for the past 13 years. Tonight and tomorrow night there will be no uploads as we remember my dearest friend who I am missing and saddened so very much that he is gone.

The Redwood Has Arrived As Promised!!

Our first truck of 5/4x6 Redwood Decking has just been unloaded and the lumber looks great. The tallies are as follows:
2 units of 8 foot with 192 pieces per unit.
There are 5 units of 10'and 12' mixed, 7 units of 14'and 16' mixed and 4 units of 18'and 20' mixed. If you want to know the exact amount of pieces of each length in a unit call the office and we can give you the exact tally and you can pick which units you want.
Do not wait as the demand is quite strong and this first truck will go fast.
The 2" decking, posts and balusters are due end of next week or the first week in May! Keep checking back here for updates or contact your sales rep for info. |

This is a great substitute for clear pine if you are going to paint and poplar can be stained as well if so desired. The code for the poplar will be WW124RL.
